Kayla Burke serves as the Assistant Director License Maintenance Team Leader for Chartwell Compliance and brings over 14 years of experience in banking, state money transmitter and lending license acquisition along with obligatory license maintenance.  Kayla is a certified Paralegal who has experience with contracting and database management for regulatory, operational, intellectual property as well as corporate and commercial matters.

Prior to joining Chartwell, Kayla worked at Robert Half/Battelle Memorial Institute where she was responsible for various paralegal activities focusing on high risk contract reviews and audits. Kayla also worked for four years at Klarna, a Swedish bank that provides online financial services including in the United States, where she was responsible for various money transmitter license acquisition and maintenance functions which included managing related corporate and regulatory filings, legal project management and resource coordination as well as performing oversight across the company’s legal library and other internal resources.

Kayla’s greatest passion outside of work is dog rescue. She and her husband are foster parents for the Purebred Rescue of Ohio Organization, helping dogs surrendered by puppy mills or dogs found at shelters who are up for adoption to get better prepared for their forever home. Kayla also serves as a committee member for several regional paralegal associations.
