Shannon is a Compliance Professional in Chartwell’s Licensing team and has heavy duty Money Transmitter regulatory experience and over 16 years in varying regulatory roles with the state of Washington.
Prior to Joining Chartwell, Shannon served as a Program Specialist for the Washington Department of Financial Institutions Consumer Services division, licensing Money Transmitters and Mortgage Loan Originators, as well as overseeing the Refund Anticipation Loan program. Shannon’s primary duties included reviewing Money Transmitter application completeness, guaranteeing BSA/AML Programs and Business Plans were adequate, providing regulatory guidance to applicants, and ensuring applicants understood submission requirements for compliance with state regulations. In addition to these duties, Shannon also reviewed Mortgage Loan Originator applications including the applicant’s education history, test scores, criminal background, and financial histories.
Prior to her Program Specialist role, Shannon Spent 10 years as a support admin for the Washington DFI’s Consumer Services licensing team as well as spent two years prior to that, in the Washington Department of Health.
Shannon has an Associates degree in Psychology from South Puget Sound Community College and has extensive training in State and Federal regulation for Money Transmitters, Consumer Loan/Mortgage Brokers, Escrow Agents, and Mortgage Loan Originators, as well as CAMS training.
Shannon lives in Olympia, WA, with her husband, two kids and a very loyal German shepherd. In her spare time, Shannon loves going to the Oregon beaches with her family, taking the boat out on the lake or on Puget Sound, fishing and deer hunting. She is also a fan of taking girl trips to her hometown, in Eastern WA, to get a truck full of farm fresh vegetables and going wine tasting. Shannon also loves relaxing at home, watching movies and having ping pong tournaments with her family.
