Tara Rivet is a Senior Associate on Ankura’s Licensing team, bringing over 15 years of financial and regulatory expertise. Her extensive experience spans banking, budget management, lending, and money service businesses (MSBs). Tara spent 12 years with the State of Vermont, and 5 of those years with the Department of Financial Regulation (DFR), Banking Division.

Before joining Ankura, Tara served at the DFR, initially as an Examiner for state-chartered banks and credit unions. She later joined the Licensing team, where she processed all of Vermont’s MSB, Lending, Sales Finance, Debt, and Loan Solicitation licenses for approval. She also handled daily maintenance requests in the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System & Registry (NMLS).

Prior to her tenure at the Vermont Department of Financial Regulation, Tara was the Finance Manager for both the Department of Motor Vehicles and the Agency of Agriculture. In these roles, she was responsible for budget management, grant reporting, payroll, and accounts payable and receivable.

Tara holds an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Castleton University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Southern New Hampshire University.

In her free time, Tara enjoys spending time with her son Oliver and friends, playing sports, and riding her motorcycle.
